Advent Technologies is ready to take financial controlling to the next level. Do you have the right experience to drive and reform financial controlling both locally and globally? You will be responsible for the development of the financial unit in an expanding growth company in Aalborg.

Updating the controlling and reporting functions

As a recent addition to the US multi-national Advent Technologies group, we are expanding our business and workforce in Aalborg. As Advent Technologies is a publicly listed company on the Nasdaq stock exchange (Nasdaq:ADN), our controlling and reporting functions need to be taken to a new level of maturity. To attain this aim we seek an experienced Financial Director. The position is located at our offices at Lyngvej 8, 9000 Aalborg.

You will lead a local team consisting of a bookkeeper and two controllers at our Aalborg location, as well as coordinating and driving the efforts of the accounting teams in two of our affiliates, in the Philippines and Germany. You will be responsible for developing procedures for monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, consolidation of subsidiaries and affiliated companies, preparation of internal and external reports, and compliance with the US and international accounting rules and regulations.

As the Financial Director your responsibilities will include:

  • disciplinary leadership of the Danish finance team, and professional/technical management of finance and controlling functions at our German and Philippines locations
  • liaise with management colleagues and external consultants in Germany, the Philippines, Greece, and the USA
  • drive the development of financial closing procedures
  • close cooperation with the global CFO and external auditors
  • drive the preparation of figures for submission to the US Securities & Exchange Commission and reports for group management
  • expand upon existing internal controlling and reporting to local management
  • annual budget preparation
  • establish and report financial and sales forecasting and KPI’s
  • develop planning, controlling, and reporting procedures for revenue, coordinated globally

You will be an integral part of the company´s leadership team and play a role in the global Advent organization. You will report to the global CFO, Kevin Brackman.

You are at ease in the field of financial controlling

We expect you to have solid experience of leadership in multinational financial controlling. You are a skilled user of ERP, accounting systems, and IT tools for budgeting, consolidation, and reporting of multinationals. You hold a degree in accounting and may have worked as an auditor. Profitably, you have a solid understanding of US-GAAP versus Danish-GAAP, however, this is not a requirement to be a successful candidate for the position.

You are solution- and detail-oriented, well-structured, strong in the execution of tasks, a skilled communicator, and capable of building strong relations in the organization. You are comfortable working with tight deadlines, especially around quarterly closings. This involves being proactive and business-supportive.

Your work style is structured and analytical, and you inspire and motivate others to reach the best possible results in cooperation. Seeing the bigger picture while staying oriented towards details is natural for you. You work with a high degree of integrity and thrive in a high pace environment. You are respectful, but demanding, and you do not shy away from conflict.

You are fluent in English and Danish, both written and oral.
